Evelyn Louise Alumbaugh, daughter of the late Everett and Jewell (Willhite) Alumbaugh, was born December 31, 1938, in Graff, Missouri, and passed away May 17, 2025, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri. She was 86 years of age.
Louise was born prematurely and only weighed 2 pounds at birth. The doctor only gave Louise two months to live. But with her mother’s loving care, determination, and perseverance, Louise lived 86 years.
Louise loved the Lord, and at one point in her life, she said she had seen Jesus. She had attended Pleasant Hill, also known as Spotted Hog Church, as long as her health permitted. She also loved music, and her favorite songs were “Wings of a Dove” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”
Louise liked to look and dress nicely. She always loved the pretty dresses her mom made her, and she loved wearing beads. She was always conscious about her weight and watched what she ate, but she did love her chocolate milk and ice cream.
Louise was a caring person and loved babies. She had a special bond with all her nieces and nephews and loved them very much.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Jewell Alumbaugh; two sisters, Lois Peel and Delores Hicks; two brothers-in-law, Verncil Peel and Leroy Hicks; and two nephews, Eric Peel and Sam Hicks.
She is survived by one brother, Gary Alumbaugh and his wife, Sandy, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Gideons in care of the funeral home.
