Frieda Evelyn Manar, daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Marler) Blackwell, was born June 20, 1942, in Irondale, Missouri, and departed this life April 21, 2026, at her home in Seymour, Missouri, at 83 years of age.

Frieda grew up and attended school in Irondale, Missouri, and she later earned her GED in 1974. She was united in marriage to David L. Manar on February 2, 1957, and two children were born to this union: Sharon and Diane. During their young married life, Frieda and David traveled around a lot with David’s sales job. Later, they lived in DeSoto, Missouri, for many years where they raised their family and Frieda worked as a seamstress at F & B Binding. When David retired, they moved to Seymour, Missouri, and she worked as a seamstress at H.D. Lee. They enjoyed their retirement years in Seymour where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

Frieda’s hobbies included quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, going to yard sales and thrift stores, and going to the casino. Frieda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, who will be deeply missed.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Helen Blackwell, her loving husband of 54 years, David Manar, two sisters, Hazel Blackwell and Donna Blackwell, one granddaughter, Katie Haverstick, and one grandson, David O’Neal.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hughes and husband, Robert, of Springfield, Missouri, and Diane Banks of Seymour, Missouri, one brother, Ronald Blackwell, five grandchildren, Joseph Haverstick and wife, Amanda, Jim O’Neal and wife, Teresa, Amanda Taylor, Timothy Goss and wife, Carrie, and Joshua Wright and wife, Karisa, sixteen great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Graham, Kimberly and husband, Russ, Hailey and husband, Wesley, Jimmy Jr., Caden, Cooper, Elijah, Emma, Ella, LaKiesha, TaKiyah, IgNaytious, Callie, Chloe, and Cason, seven great-great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Kyleah, Curtis, Brinleighh, Cadence, Wesley Jr., and MaKenzie, and many other extended family and friends who will miss her.
