July 20, 1971 — April 24, 2024

Macomb

Glen Wesley Nelson Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, passed away on April 24, 2024, in Macomb, Missouri. He was born on July 20, 1971, in Columbia, Missouri, to Kathryn (Hillhouse) and Glen Wesley Nelson Sr. . Glen was 52 years, 9 months, and 4 days of age.

Glen dedicated his career to working for Dura-Line in pipe manufacturing, where he was known for his loyalty and dedication as an employee. His commitment and work ethic left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Outside of work, Glen's true joy came from being a husband to his best friend and wife, Debbie. Their bond was sealed on December 7, 1998, at the courthouse in Wright County. Glen cherished their relationship and the memories they created together. His greatest joy in life, his daughter, Emma, was born of this union.

In his free time, Glen pursued his passion for hunting and fishing. He shared this love with others, often taking kids along to instill in them a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Additionally, he showcased his talent as a grill master, impressing everyone with his skills in smoking meat and barbequing delicious meals.

Among Glen's proudest accomplishments were his victories in playing corn hole, where he thought he was a champion, as well as his unofficial title as," the best turkey caller he knew". These achievements brought him joy and a sense of pride throughout his life. He also loved and cared for his hunting dogs that were a big part of his family.

The last few years Glen really enjoyed and relished watching Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs win and become the latest NFL dynasty with three recent Super Bowl victories. Go Chiefs!

Glen was preceded in death by his father.

Glen will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie; his daughter, Emma Dixson and her husband, Logan, of Macomb, Missouri; his mother, Kathryn Nelson; his sister, Venessa Watkins, and her husband, Jerry, of Rockbridge, Missouri; and his brother George Nelson, and his wife, Brandy, of Dora, Missouri, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Glen's warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering friendship will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Before Glen’s passing he was saved and gave his heart and life to Jesus while he was in a tree stand. Glen now rests in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Masonic Lodge of Norwood Missouri and there is an account set up directly at Stockmen’s Bank in Mountain Grove or donations can be made care of the funeral home.
