Jackie Lynn Walker

November 25, 1951 — July 5, 2023

Jackie Lynn Walker, son of the late Harry and Norma (Bruce) Walker, was born November 25, 1951, in Fairfield, Illinois, and passed away at his home in Vanzant, Missouri. He was 71 years, 7 months, and 10 days of age.


Jack grew up in the Fairfield, Illinois area and graduated from Fairfield High School. Jack married Lou Ann Bragg on November 28, 1972, in Charleston, South Carolina. Two daughters were born to this union. After high school he served his country for 26 years in the United States Navy, retiring in July of 1995 as a Master Chief Machinist Mate. After retirement from the Navy, Jack worked for various companies as an over the road truck driver. His last trucking job was hauling cattle.


Jack was a nature lover and moved to Missouri to live the simple country life. He enjoyed working in his vegetable gardens and tending to his roses.


Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Walker, and one brother, Jimmy Guy Walker.


He is survived by two daughters, Kristina Whitten and husband, Brad, and Katherine “Kappy” Nichols and husband, Bradley, all of Hanahan, South Carolina; one brother, Jerry Walker and wife, Jeanie, of Independence, Missouri; one sister, ViEva Shelton of Fairfield, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Rhoda Jean Walker of Cisne, Illinois; three grandchildren, Colin, Corbin, and Lorelei Nichols; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
