Jackie Lue “LuLu” Morris, daughter of the late Fred Arvil and Mary (Dyer) Morris, was born June 2, 1951, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away October 31, 2026, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 75 years, 4 months, and 29 days of age.
Jackie grew up in the Mountain Grove area and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1969.
Jackie received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and dedicated her life to training and caring for others. She started the original Nursing Vocational Education class in Mountain Grove, preparing students for a nursing career. She also spent time working with Riverways Home Health. She worked in Labor and Delivery at the Mansfield, Missouri, hospital but spent the majority of her career, over thirty years, in Labor and Delivery with Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Over the years, there were many times, outside of work, when Jackie was recognized by several parents as their delivery nurse of their child. Often, they would share their gratitude and appreciation for the love and care she showed towards them and their newborn children.
Jackie was a born again Christian. She dearly loved her family and friends and those she met throughout her career. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with and caring for her pets. She dearly loved them. Jackie took great joy in entertaining and spending time in her pool. There were many fun moments spent together around that pool. She also enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Cardinals ballgames. Jackie had fun in life, created many memories with those she loved, and shared with others a very gracious spirit.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Morris, one sister, Mary Ann (Morris) Chasteen, and two brothers, Fred Morris, Jr. “Sonny”, and Bill Morris.
She is survived by one sister, Connie (Morris) Dooms, one sister-in-law, Karla (Frisbee) Morris, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Autumn Oaks Caring Center and Hospice Compassus for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Jackie. They would also like to extend a special thank-you to her amazing friends, whose love, friendship, and unwavering support meant so much to her. Your kindness and presence made a tremendous difference, and the family will always be grateful.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jackie’s name to Rescue One of Springfield, Missouri, at rescueonespringfield.com or to the Grove Community Cat Coalition at grovecats.org.
