Jim was born to James and Wilma O’Harra in June of 1939 in Auburn Nebraska, and passed away at home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, on December 23, 2024, at 85 years of age.
Jim started his working career and family in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he retired from Motorola at the age of 55. He was a loving and dedicated father who enjoyed spending time with his children. Jim loved sports and coached Little League baseball while his son, Dan, was in grade school. He was very active in the Arizona Rough Riders trail riding group and participated in many horse-riding events, like parades and overnight campouts.
In 2003, Jim moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri. He enjoyed friendship and conversation at Murphys barber shop, no haircut necessary.
The gang eventually moved to Mountain Grove Pharmacy where you can still find them enjoying a cup of coffee and cutting up.
Jim formed a brotherly connection with Max Woods and the two would often be seen riding a golf cart in town and enjoying all the High School sporting events.
Jim eventually met his sunshine, Sharon Bennett, and they were married in the Pharmacy diner with Max Woods as his best man.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilma, his wife, Sharon, and his sister, Gloria.
He is survived by his children, Jamie Donaldson, Dan O’Harra and Shannon Melisko and their families, and sister Beverly (O’Harra) Carrico. He is also survived by Sharon’s children, John, Loretta, Tena, Patty, Tammy and their families.
