Janice Loreane Colson-Lesperance

Janice Loreane (Doeden) Colson - Lesperance, daughter of the late Phillip and Eulabell (Hall) Doeden, was born February 7, 1952, in Cook, Nebraska. She passed away March 26, 2026, at her home in Nixa, Missouri, at the age of 74.

Janice married Larry Colson and lived in Mountain Grove, Missouri, for almost 30 years. Two sons, Matthew and Josh, were born to this union. She was later married to Richard Lesperance. Larry and Richard both preceded her in death.

Also preceding Janice in death were siblings, Floyd Thompson and his wife, Gladys, Shirley (Thompson) Elam and her husband, Jerry, and Danny Doeden.

Janice is survived by her two sons, Matthew Colson and his wife, Bonnie, of Mountain Grove, and Josh Colson of Mountain Grove; two grandsons, Haden and Bryson Colson; a sister-in-law, Carol Doeden of Syracuse, Nebraska; and many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

It was Janice’s final wish to have no viewing or service, but to ask everyone who knew her to remember the good times and think of her smiling and laughing. Her urn will be interred at a later date in the Osage Cemetery at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, near Cook, Nebraska.
