Jason “JT” Thomas Baker, son of the late Thomas and Betty (Barnett) Baker, was born April 22, 1981, in Springfield, Missouri, and departed this life August 8, 2025, at his home in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of 44 years, 3 months, and 17 days.
Jason, the oldest of 10 children, grew up on the family farm just outside of Galena, Missouri, where he lived with his grandparents, who adopted him at a young age. As a young man, Jason played football and baseball at Galena High School, from which he proudly graduated. Jason's love for sports extended beyond the schoolyard to dusty rodeo arenas. Jason participated in various rodeo events, even giving “falling off a bull” a try. Jason loved farming, ranching, and anything to do with tractors. His first words were said to be “tractor”. After graduation, he worked for Desperado Cattle Company as a ranch hand. Later he went on to become a top notch garage door installer, even forming his own company Heartland Garage Doors, before his health forced him to step back from the workforce in 2019.
In the summer of 1995, Jason first laid eyes on Carmen Beam. It was love at first site but they were separated as teenagers when Carmen's family moved away. The Lord directed their paths, and the best friends were united in marriage on March 26, 2010. In his spare time, Jason loved to fish and camp, but more importantly, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Jason was a faithful believer in God and attended church at Solid Rock Cowboy Church.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Betty Baker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen (Beam) Baker, of the home, three sons, Curtis Baker and wife, Bailey, of Elkland, Missouri, Tanner Pata and wife, Ainsleigh, of Republic, Missouri, and Aidan Baker of Hartville, Missouri, one daughter, Karley Baker, of Springfield, Missouri, three grandchildren, Athena, Dean, and baby Rikki on the way, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jason was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
