Jerry Keith Miller

April 5, 1939 — April 10, 2024

Marshfield

Jerry Keith Miller went to meet our Savior on the evening of April 10, 2024. He was born April 5, 1939, to William “Bill” and Edna Miller in Clemons, Iowa. The family re-located to Seymour, Missouri, where he graduated from Seymour High School in 1956. He was always proud of his position with the Seymour Tigers basketball team.

During his adult years, Jerry finally found his “niche” in construction. There are houses, apartment complexes, restaurants, and other light commercial construction structures in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and of course Missouri. In Seymour, most noted, the Seymour Library. In addition, he was a licensed pilot. He flew both fixed wing and ultra-light planes.

Jerry served as the mayor of Seymour for five years, from 2004 – 2009. He was always noted for his hard work and common-sense approach to jobs or issues. One of his favorite sayings after he played a joke on his family or his many friends was, “You should always try and have a little fun each day”.

He was blessed with five children after his marriage to Nancy, then further blessed with three children after his marriage to Linda.

Jerry is survived by his children, Cindy, Teresa and Lance, Brenda and Bill, Jeff and Christy, Tina and Salvador, Bud, and Nick and Tayna; grandchildren, Christiaan and Adair, Ryan and Katie, Hailey and Phil, Aaron and Allison, Cody and Katlynn, Bailey, Aimee and David, Renee, Christina and Felippe, and Gabby and Eric; as well as 23 great-grandchildren, and special niece and nephew, Kathy Smith and Joe Bill Peters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Edna; his son, Jerry; sister, Beverly Peters, and grandson, Salvador.

Services are postponed as he waits for Linda when they will be interred together and lovingly enter the gates of heaven hand in hand.
