Jessie Ray Page

November 2, 1938 — March 9, 2026

Aurora, Illinois

Jessie Ray (Mitchell) Page, daughter of the late David and Mattie (Shiflett) Mitchell, born November 2, 1938, in Roanoke, Alabama, departed this life March 9, 2026, at her home in Aurora, Illinois, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 7 days.

As a child, her family moved to LaGrange, Georgia, where she was raised in a hardworking, sharecropping family. It was near Fort Benning, Georgia, while working as a waitress, that she met William Page. The two were united in marriage on August 24, 1960.

The couple eventually moved to Aurora, Illinois, where they built a home and raised their two sons. Jessie spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, finding her greatest joy in the presence of her loved ones. She and William shared a simple, cherished tradition of watching Wheel of Fortune together every evening. A natural caregiver, she was never happier than when she was babysitting her grandchildren and watching her family grow.

Jessie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, William Page, her brother, Roy Mitchell, and her parents, David and Mattie Mitchell.

She is survived by her two sons, David Page and Latham Page, and his wife, Joy, three grandchildren, Michael (Samantha), Amber (Jeff), and Rory, six great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, Maddy, Aiden, Weston, Amelia, Jeffery, and Latham.

Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many memories spent together.
