Joe Ann Reed

Joe Ann (Fullington) Reed, daughter of the late David and Laura Fullington, was born March 23, 1946, at Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life August 17, 2025, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri. She was 79 years, 4 months, and 25 days of age.

Joe Ann grew up and attended school in Hartville, Missouri. She graduated from Hartville High School with the class of 1966. Joe Ann attended church at the Hartville Church of God with her family growing up. She and her daughter, Lorena, later attended church together at Hartville Free Will Baptist Church and then Amazing Grace Baptist Church for a short time. She lived the majority of her life on the family farm, and then with her daughter, before she moved to Hartville Care Center where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Joe Ann lived for her grandchildren and she loved spending as much time with them as possible. She also loved the outdoors and enjoyed going camping. One of Joe Ann’s favorite hobbies was collecting carousel horse music boxes.

Joe Ann was preceded in death by her parents, David and Laura Fullington, one sister, Betty Hill, one brother, Charles Fullington, and two infant siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorena Purdy, her stepdaughter, Patti Anderson, two grandchildren, Jonathan James Purdy and Christina Kaye Purdy, two brothers, David Fullington Jr. and Jesse Fullington, three sisters, Elsie Huston, Mary Swan, and Ava Fullington, and many other extended family and friends who will miss her.
