John W. Cooper Jr.

John W. Cooper Jr., son of the late John William Cooper Sr. and Margaret (Tyrrell) Cooper, was born September 17, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, and passed away May 18, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri. He was 67 years, 8 months, and 1 day of age.  

 

While living in Michigan, he married Johnnie Mathaney and two daughters were born to this union, Tammi and Toni.  Later in life, he moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, where he met Mona Price. They spent 31 wonderful years together.  


During John's professional career, he worked for General Motors in Michigan and later showcased his culinary skills as a cook in both Michigan and Mountain Grove, Missouri, for many years. 
 
Beyond his professional endeavors, John found joy in simple pleasures. He had a green thumb and found solace in gardening. He also loved old rock and roll music.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Cooper, one brother, Daniel Cooper, and one sister, Donna Cooper.  

 

He is survived by two daughters, Tammi Smith (Noah) and Toni Cessna, his significant other, Mona Price, two step-children, Brandon Vandiver (Vada) and Brittany Traw (Kenny), one brother, Robert Cooper, two sisters, Mary Heikkila and Susan Robertson (Mark), seven grandchildren, Anthony, Shealynn, Ashton, Alexis, Chesney, Shaelyn, and Wyatt, and one great-grandchild, Finnley.
