Judy Lynn Dodson

April 13, 1949 — June 5, 2021

Judy Lynn Dodson was born April 13, 1949, to John and Butch Dailey. She was the oldest of three daughters.

Growing up, Judy, along with her sisters, Anita and Karen, got into plenty of mischief, but they had a great time doing it!

In 1976 Judy married Donald “Willie” Williams and then began the next chapter of her life as a Navy wife. Throughout the stresses of Navy life of her husband sailing to and from home, God blessed her with two more challenges, Shannon and Tracy.

Judy was always proud of her daughters. She made sure they always had what they needed, whether it was clothes, advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just a quick swat on the butt when they deserved it.

After Willie’s retirement from the Navy, Judy and Willie decided to move to Missouri to be around her cousins and family whom she loved dearly. Not only did Judy and her family move, but her parents and sisters followed which began the “Great Missouri Migration of ’90.”

In Norwood, Judy was very involved in the church. She knew God was always with her, protecting her and her family.

Judy was always so creative and not to mention funny! She was constantly painting, crocheting, or doing some sort of craft. She would never mind being the butt of the joke or really anything as long as it got a laugh.

Toward the end of her earthly life, she was not only blessed to be a mother, but she was also blessed to be a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved them deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Butch Dailey, and her niece, Jennifer Dailey.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Dodson, her two daughters, Shannon Russo and her husband, Joe, Tracy Dodd and her husband, James, sisters, Anita Warner and her husband, Mike, and Karen Kayser, grandchildren, Kristen Tomboc, Brett Tomboc, Emily Dodd, and Samuel Dodd, great-grandchildren, Orin Dangler, Lani Dangler, and Elijah Stepp, several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her and will miss her deeply.
