Junior Barnes

January 8, 1950 — June 17, 2025

Wheatland, Missouri

Junior Lee Barnes, son of the late Clint William and Stella Aletha (McGuire) Barnes, was born January 8, 1950, at Embree, Missouri. He passed away June 17, 2025, at his residence in Wheatland, Missouri, at 75 years of age.

After graduation, Junior worked at many different jobs, from milking cows to construction work and managing a propane company. He was also a computer specialist for Mobil Oil. Junior’s most rewarding jobs were working in healthcare emergency medicine. He worked in air evacuation and managed an ambulance service. He even set in on President Clinton’s advisory council for emergency medicine. He taught training courses for the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and State of Missouri Emergency Systems. Junior later decided to travel the United States as an over the road truck driver.

He was saved at a young age and had made it a priority to rededicate his life before he passed away.

Junior was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and he also loved fishing, hunting, and music, but the thing that brought Junior the most joy in life was loving others and spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, Junior was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alicia Gail Barnes; one brother, Calvin Barnes; one sister, Doris Jarrett; and one granddaughter, Dylan Barnes.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannine (Rumfelt) Barnes; two sons, Clint Barnes and Terrell Barnes; one stepson, Jody Bunch and wife, Briget; one stepdaughter, Tammy Nelson and husband, Larry; one sister, Reeta (Barnes) Clark and husband, Charles; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
