Kirk Latimer

July 13, 1971 — September 4, 2025

Mountain Grove

Kirk Glenn Latimer, son of the late Richard and Alvina (Baker) Latimer, was born July 13, 1971, in Antelope Valley, California, and departed this life September 4, 2025, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 54 years of age.

Kirk attended his early years of school in Gardena, California, until his family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, when he was nine years old. He later graduated from Mountain Grove High School with the class of 1990.

Kirk went to work at Ryan’s Restaurant in Sikeston, Missouri, where he met Amanda Drake. They were united in marriage on New Year’s Eve of 1998, and two children were born to this union, Alexes and Jacob. He later met Juanita Baney and they were blessed with three more children, Jonathan, Isabell, and Dexter.

One of Kirk’s favorite jobs throughout his career was driving a truck over the road. He enjoyed taking some of his kids and grandkids on trips in the truck as often as he could. Kirk loved helping anyone in need, and he was pretty handy at fixing things. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed tinkering and fixing things when needed. Kirk could strike up a conversation with anyone and truly enjoyed visiting with people. He never met a stranger, just friends he hadn’t met yet!

Kirk enjoyed spending time at the river relaxing, swimming, and exploring nature. Above anything else, his family was the most important thing in life to him, and he treasured any time that they were able to spend together.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Alvina Latimer, and one brother, Christopher Latimer.

He is survived by five children, Alexes Latimer, Jacob Latimer, Jonathan Latimer, Isabell Latimer, and Dexter Latimer, two grandchildren, Lukas and Sebastian, one brother, Keith Latimer and wife, Autumn, and many other extended family and friends who will miss him.
