Lester Lavon Watson

August 21, 1942 — July 18, 2013

Lester Lavon Watson, son of the late Clint and Valda (Neldon) Watson, was born on August 21, 1942 in Gideon, Missouri, and departed this life on July 18, 2013 at his residence south of Norwood, Missouri in Wright County. He was 70 years, 10 months and 27 days of age.


Lester grew up and attended school in Gideon, Missouri and graduated from Gideon High School in 1961. He was drafted into the United States Army and served his country for two years.


Lester was employed for South Western Bell Telephone Company. He retired after thirty-two years of service with them.


He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting, fishing, and going to the area lakes.


Lester had made Wright County his home for the past twelve years. He loved the Ozarks and enjoyed living south of Norwood.


Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Clint Watson.


He is survived by his companion: Mitchelene DuBois of Norwood, Missouri; four daughters: Patricia Tegethoff and her husband, Tommy, of Paragould, Arkansas, Claudia Presley and her husband, Darrell, of Malden, Missouri, Donna Broyles and Cynthia O’Bryan, both of Fulton, Missouri; two brothers: Gilbert Watson of Cahokia, Illinois; and Biven Watson of Rogersville, Missouri; one sister: Phyllis Emerson of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren: David Tegethoff, Nicholas Tegethoff, Elizabeth Tegethoff, Jerralynn Broyles and Michael Johnson and his wife, Suzanne; a cousin: Jim Street of Fisk, Missouri; and a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends who will miss him very much.
