Linda L. Owens

Linda Lou (Gallion) Owens, daughter of the late Virgil and Mae (Kleier) Gallion, was born August 11, 1944, in Seymour, Missouri, and departed this life July 15, 2025, at Heart of the Ozarks Health Care in Ava, Missouri, at the age of 80 years, 11 month, and 4 days.

Linda grew up on the family farm in Seymour, Missouri, where she and her family raised rabbits and tended a garden. She attended Seymour schools. Linda was a believer in God and was saved at a young age. It was in Seymour, on the town square during a community church service, that she met Archie E. Owens. They were united in marriage on March 28, 1964; to this union, 4 children were born. After marrying, Linda and Archie moved to Kansas, where they raised their family together.

Linda worked various jobs, but for the majority of her life, she worked as a factory worker packing a variety of meats for Tyson and Cargill. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to gospel and bluegrass music, collecting angel figurines, and cooking. Linda was the type of person that you wanted to invite to your weekend cookout. She was known for her famous lemon meringue pie, coleslaw, broccoli cauliflower salad, and fried chicken. She loved to quilt; she would often stop at yard sales and fabric shops to purchase fabric any time an opportunity presented itself, whether she needed it or not.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mae Gallion, her husband, Archie E. Owens, one daughter, Janice Owens, one grandson, Cody Fuller, two brothers, James and Jessie Gallion, and two sisters, Kathy Garfit and Sue Sampson.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Fuller and husband, Charles, of Ava, Missouri, two sons, Archie Owens Jr. and wife, Anita, of Kansas, Michael Owens and wife, Kelly, of Kansas City, three grandchildren, Amanda, Crystal, and Makayla, seven great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Avalynn, Meya, Trauvon, Janeyshia, Zeyquan, and Zayshia, and one great-great-grandchild Zy’Meri, two brothers, Richard Gallion and Henry Gallion, three sisters, Carol Gardner, Elsie Smith, and Alice Ragsdale, and a host of many nieces, nephews, and many friends she considered family.

Linda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, caring neighbor, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
