Lola Ellen Gray

December 19, 1921 — November 15, 2022

Lola Ellen (King) Gray, daughter of the late Richard Wesley and Minni Helena (Miller) King, was born January 6, 1921, in Sanger, California, and passed away November 15, 2022, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri. She was 101 years, 10 months, and 9 days of age.


Lola was raised in Douglas County, near Ava, Missouri. She married Frank Theodore Gray on March 15, 1938. Three daughters, Frances, Priscilla, and Evelyn were born to this union. Lola was a member of the Mansfield Nazarene Church.


She and Frank liked traveling to different areas, sightseeing, and collecting rocks. Lola was a talented painter and had painted many pretty pictures. She also loved gardening and being out in her yard working in her flowers. She was still mowing her yard at the age of 99.


Lola moved to Country Living Assisted Living in Mountain Grove, Missouri, in 2019. She lived there until she got sick and had to move to Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, where she was residing at the time of her passing.


Besides her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank Gray, a daughter, Evelyn Miller, and three brothers, Howard King, Gorman King, and Glen King.


She is survived by two daughters, Frances Dedmon of Hartville, Missouri, and Priscilla Logan of Seymour, Missouri, one brother, Earl King of Ozark, Missouri, six grandchildren, Michael Dedmon and wife, Nancy, of Long Lane, Missouri, Janet Brooke and husband, Brad, of Mansfield, Missouri, Tim Logan and wife, Amy, of Nixa, Missouri, Pamela Wormington and husband, Kirk, of Monett, Missouri, Kenneth Whittaker and wife, Sandy, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Kathy Dotson of Gainesville, Missouri, 12 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-great-grandchildren, one niece, Brenda Duran of Ava, Missouri, three nephews, Jon King, Craig King, and Keith King, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
