Martha Jo Moody

Martha Jo Moody, daughter of the late Wayne and Wilma (Todd) Casey, was born June 15, 1956, in Mansfield, Missouri. She passed away on February 1, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 69.

As a kid growing up in the Dawson community, Martha enjoyed spending time with family and being with all of her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. She graduated with the Mountain Grove High School class of 1974. She was united in marriage to Lonnie Moody in 2008.

Martha loved bowling, playing softball, going to the lake, flower gardening, and riding in the side by side. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play sports.

Martha had a servant’s heart. She loved being able to take care of family, not just when they were in need. She went out of her way to make sure everyone around her was taken care of.

Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Casey; her sister, Mary Besson; and nephew, Brandon Besson.

Martha is survived by her husband, Lonnie Moody; her son, Justin Sutherland; her daughter, Jodi Calus, and her son, Dillon Moody; her grandchildren, Trystan Short (Kenzie), Macenzie Short, Johnny Calus, Blake Walk, Colton Moody, and Jaxyn Moore; and her great-grandson, Greyson Short; and many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
