Mary “Annette” (Harp) Bruffett, daughter of the late Birdell and Mary Belle (Perryman) Harp, was born September 19, 1962, in Piggot, Arkansas. She left her earthly home in Norwood, Missouri, and went to her heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Annette grew up a pastor’s kid and lived in various places where her father pastored churches. In 1976, the family moved to Norwood, Missouri, where her father became the pastor of the Norwood Assembly of God.
Annette attended Norwood Schools and graduated with the class of 1980. As a teenager she worked during the summers at SMSU (MSU) Fruit Experiment Station in Mountain Grove. After graduation, Annette went to work for the State of Missouri Division of Family Services and retired from there in 2014. After retirement she subbed in the cafeteria and daycare at Norwood Schools.
Annette was united in marriage to Tim Bruffett on April 13, 2001. They just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. Annette loved to travel, and she and Tim made several trips to Hawaii and looked forward to their annual fall trips with family and friends. Annette loved going to the beach; although she didn’t like to get in the ocean. She just enjoyed looking out from the balcony and watching the sunrises and sunsets. She also enjoyed looking for dolphins and whales. In February, Annette said she would like to go to the beach one more time, so she and Tim made a trip to Orange Beach, Alabama.
Annette was a member of Mansfield First Assembly of God for 24 years, where she was the Women’s Ministries leader for many of those years. She loved working and serving in the church. Annette was also a big supporter of her community and had served on the Norwood Betterment Club and Norwood Farmer’s Day committee for several years. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, but was an even bigger Norwood Pirates fan and supporter. Annette loved to watch and cheer for her Pirates!
Annette never had children of her own, but she was a second mom to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nephew. She loved them dearly, as they did her.
Annette enjoyed reading and going to Silver Dollar City. She was a big cat lover and had many cats throughout the years; they were her fur babies. She loved them all.
Besides her parents, Annette was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Harp, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Bruffett; three brothers, Richard Harp and wife, Brenda, Randy Harp and wife, Julie, and Alan Harp and wife, Karen; two sisters, Regina Hopper and husband, Terry, and Samantha Harp; her step-mother, Dianne Harp, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Donna Bruffett; a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew; other relatives, church family, and friends who will miss her very much.
