Mary Armstrong went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Northridge Place Senior Living Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of 78.

She was born on January 8, 1948, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Ernest and Katherine Carter.

Mary spent her life supporting her family in all their athletic and professional endeavors, traveling many miles and dedicating countless hours at various gyms and ball fields. The majority of her career was spent as executive director of the Mountain Grove Chamber of Commerce. She was especially skilled at organizing and facilitating large community events, such as major concerts and golf tournaments.

On March 6, 1965, Mary married Jerry Gene Armstrong. They were happily married for 55 years, serving as each other’s fiercest defender and protector, until Jerry’s passing on February 4, 2021.

Mary enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her family. She especially loved being together with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to Jerry, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Billy and one sister, Margaret.

Mary leaves behind her two sons; Kevin (Deb), and Brad (Michelle), grandchildren; Ryne (Haley), Kelsey (austin) Moore, Blayne (Leah), Kyler (Brooklyn), and great-grandchildren: Paxton, Blaire, Silas, Miller, Shepherd, Sterling, and Landry, one sister: Diane, three brothers; Dickie, Bobby, and Jackie, and numerous special family members and friends.,

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jerry and Mary Armstrong Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mansfield High School, 316 W. Ohio Street, Mansfield, Missouri, 65704.
