Mary Alice Asher

August 29, 1932 — May 11, 2024

Hartville

Mary Alice Asher was born August 29, 1932, at home near Mansfield, Missouri, and passed away peacefully May 11, 2024, at Hartville Care Center at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 12 days.

Growing up near Hartville, Mary Alice attended Mansfield High School where she completed her education.  After high school, she worked as an assistant at the Wright County Courthouse, and at Head Orchard in both Versailles, Missouri, and Seymour, Missouri.   She also worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield, Missouri, for many years.

Mary Alice’s joys in life included tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning, observing birds, watching the cows, playing the piano, indulging in beautiful crochet work, and filling her home with loved ones during the holidays.  She was a warm, generous host, famous for her delicious blackberry cobbler and pumpkin pie.  She enjoyed company, always bidding farewell to family and friends with a familiar reminder: “Well, you don’t need to rush off.”  Mary Alice proclaimed her faith in Christ early in life, and she continued to serve the Lord faithfully.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Crawford, her brother, Fred Crawford, and her great-granddaughter, Brianna Dugger.

Mary Alice is survived by her legacy of love through her two sons and three daughters, Tom Kingery and his wife, Marilyn, of Mansfield, Missouri, Larry Kingery and his wife, Donna, of Mansfield, Missouri, Rebecca Dugger and her husband, Kyle, of Mansfield, Missouri, Lawanna Kingery and her husband, Robert Dale, of Seymour, Missouri, and Teresa Moore and her husband, Kelly, of Hartville, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, Tommy Kingery, Jennifer Pogue, Justin Kingery, Angela Wells, Lesa Disney, Tommy Dugger, Ricky Dugger, Bryan Dugger, Tiffany Kingery, Heather Kingery, Victoria Shaver, and Elizabeth Hildebrand, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Hartville Care Center for the exceptional care and love that was shown to her.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Zion Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
