Nadine Hart

Frances Nadine (Hurley) Hart, daughter of Hobart Hurley and Ressie (Wade) Hurley, passed this earthly life on August 13, 2026, at the age of 90 years, 3 months, and 11 days.

She was born on May 2, 1936, in a rural community near Manes, Missouri. She attended grades 1st - 8th in a one-room schoolhouse and rode a bus to attend Mountain Grove High School, where she graduated in 1954.

On May 26, 1954, Nadine married the love of her life, Leonard Hart. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. She worked different jobs; as one would close, she moved on to another one, and she was also a caregiver to their neighbor lady.

They bought land and built a new home in Smithville, Missouri, both still working in Kansas City. They owned and operated a Janitorial Company, and she was a helpmate as they cleaned office buildings after their jobs ended for the day.

Leonard was called to the ministry, and again, she was a helpmate by his side. For 46 years, they pastored churches. She would fill in where needed and play the piano where needed in one or two of the churches. She had a motto: “Do what you do and do it well; you may be the only Bible some people read.”

Nadine was saved and baptized at an early age and attended church most of her life. In later years, she was a member of Wolf Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

After Leonard retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company, they sold their janitorial business and their home and moved back to the Hartville area to help care for their parents.

She loved flowers and birds. When living in the country, she spent a lot of time caring for both. In her spare time, she enjoyed making things with plastic canvas and crocheting. She also loved sharing her work with friends.

Nadine is survived by one son, Jim Hart, of Carthage, Missouri, one grandson, Jessie Hart, of Kansas City, Missouri, two sisters, Imogene Key and her husband, Bill, of Rogersville, Missouri, and Kay Robertson, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Barbara Hurley, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Hart, of 64 years; her parents; three brothers; one brother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

If she were here today, she would thank her loving and caring friends, neighbors, and family for their help during her most trying times.
