Nathalie Knight

January 23, 1928 — August 14, 2023

Nathalie Christine Knight, affectionately known as “Nat”, was born January 23, 1928, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and departed this life August 14, 2023, in Hollister, Missouri. She was 95 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.

Nat graduated from Hicksville High School in Long Island, New York, in 1946. She then attended Westfield State College. She was united in marriage to Curtis Raymond Knight, Jr. in April of 1947, in Amherst, Massachusetts. Three children were born to this union.

In 1959, Nat and Curt began a small business venture by opening a country store, Knights Royal Grocery. They served their community with everyday needs such as groceries, dry goods, and fuel for over 25 years before selling and later moving to Venice, Florida. While living in Venice, they spent much of their time at the beach with friends. Curt passed away in November of 1999 and Nat, shortly thereafter, moved to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Pensacola. They would all move to Missouri in 2005, where Nat remained until her passing.

Nat was very artistic and enjoyed creating pottery, working with ceramics, stone work, and painting china. She loved working with her hands and spent many hours sewing, embroidering, knitting, crocheting and quilting. She also liked to read. Her greatest joy was painting with water colors. In fact, she enjoyed it so much that she used her talents in teaching others at the senior center for many years.

Nathalie is survived by one son, Shannon Knight and his wife Tammy of Monterey, Virginia; two daughters, Susan Murberger and her husband, Randy, of Mountain Grove, and Elizabeth Orrell and her husband Gary of Harrison, Maine; eleven grandchildren, Cheyenne Servidio, Sean Knight, Brian Knight, Steven Knight, Nadine Knight, Katherine Orrell, Matthew Orrell, Cheryl Collins, Corey Murberger, Matthew Heineck, and Katherine Heineck; and ten great-grandchildren. Nat will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services and burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.
