Graveside services for the immediate family will be held at 11:00 AM, October 3, 2022, at the Springfield Veterans Cemetery.

Nellie passed away September 8, 2022, at the age of 96 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

Nellie was born March 9, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Rosetta Rowlison. Later, Rosetta married into a family and Nellie became the fifth among six children. After moving to Hollister, Missouri, Nellie attended grade school and high school. She later attended SMSU for one year.

At age 13, Nellie made her profession of faith and spent the rest of her life praising and serving the Lord. She joined the Seymour Methodist Church in 1967, where she was active in the choir, the women’s group, as well as teaching Sunday School from time to time.

On June 29, 1947, Nellie married Burless Leo Dye. They remained married until his death 73 years later. She always tried to be a good housekeeper, wife, and mother. Together they had two children, Charles Randy and Andrew Paul.

Nellie and Burless, and the kids, moved to Seymour, Missouri, in 1967. Both Nellie and Burless were active in the community. Nellie is survived by one son, Charles Randy and his wife Celeste of Rogersville, Missouri, a daughter-in-law, Carla Greer of Spring Hill, Tennessee, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.

The Dye family would like to thank the good people at Glenwood Healthcare for their care, comfort, love, and support.

We would also like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for allowing Nellie to be our mother and grandmother all these years. She will be missed.
