Norman Allen

Norman Nelson Allen, son of the late Norvell Nels and Norma Rose (Miller) Allen, was born June 4, 1949, at his parent’s home in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life August 12, 2023, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, while holding his wife, Sheron’s, hand. He was 74 years, 2 months, and 8 days of age.

Norman was the fourth son born to Norvell and Norma Allen. He was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in June of 1969. He was united in marriage to Sheron Elaine Brackett on October 23, 1969, while at home on leave from the military. Two sons and one daughter were born to this union.

Norman and Sheron made their home in Douglas County, Missouri, most of their married life and moved to Mountain Grove after Norman’s health began to fail. Norman worked a variety of jobs over the years before retiring from Hutchens Industries in May of 2011.

Norman greatly enjoyed researching genealogy and visiting gravesites. His greatest love was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren whom he said were his legacy.

Besides his parents, Norman was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Russel Allen; and two granddaughters, Shelby Allen and Kodi Rust.

Norman is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Sheron Allen; three children, Brian Allen and wife, Brandi, Angela Keehner and husband, Robert, and Willie Allen; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Rex Allen and wife, Bonnie; one sister, Alice Emerson and husband, Ralph; three beloved aunts, Chris, Vickie, and Doris Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins he held dear to his heart.

Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Dennis Cemetery of Mansfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
