Frances Hurt, daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Sparks) Bradshaw, was born December 28, 1933, in Norwood, Missouri, and went to her heavenly home April 14, 2018, in Hartville, Missouri. She was 84 years, 3 months, and 17 days of age.

Frances grew up in Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School, class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Ray Alvin Hurt on October 23, 1951, in Hardy, Arkansas. To this union three children were born. Ray and Frances raised their family in the Norwood community. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always making sure the needs of her family were met.

Frances was an excellent baker and was well known for her pies. She was also a talented seamstress and quilter, making many quilts and other items for her family over the years. She also enjoyed gardening and sharing the harvest with family and friends. Frances was a reliable babysitter and had taken care of many children in the Norwood and Mountain Grove communities. Many of those children still call her grandma to this day.

Frances was saved and baptized at a young age. Her love for Jesus and the gospel remained true throughout her life. She was always looking for the opportunity to lead others to Christ. She enjoyed singing about her Savior and also liked playing the piano. One of her favorite songs to sing was “What Will I Leave Behind”. She truly lived a Godly example for her family and friends to follow. Frances leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, kindness, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, on May 26, 2007, two sons, Clarence Ray and Gary Hurt, three brothers, Carl, Jim, and Tommy Bradshaw, and one sister, Ruby Bradshaw.

Frances is survived by one daughter, Brenda Day and husband, Dale, of Hartville, Missouri, one grandson, Rev.
