Patricia Farris

Patricia “Patty” Farris, daughter of Orville and Viona Barber was born June 1, 1961, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life May 12, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 63 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

Patty lived the majority of her life in Wright County. Following a brief period residing in Kansas, she returned to Mansfield in 1973, establishing deep roots in the community. For a time, she worked as a waitress at the Little House Inn in Mansfield where she enjoyed visiting with her regulars. This inspired her to later open her own cafe.

She was united in marriage to William “Willy” Farris on November 28, 1975, and to this union five children were born.

Patty had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was skilled in embroidery, creating delicate and personalized items. Her enthusiasm for finding unique treasures extended to her enjoyment of visiting yard sales and thrift stores, where she spent hours searching for hidden gems and bargains. She also found pleasure in social activities like playing cards. For quieter moments, she turned to the mental stimulation of puzzle books and the escape offered by reading. Simple pleasures also held a special place in her life, as evidenced by her love for coffee and cigarettes. Her affection extended to her loyal canine companion, Tyson, who undoubtedly provided her with companionship and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willy Farris; one son, William Dale Farris; one daughter, Carol Henry; her parents, Orville and Viona Barber; one sister, Karen Weddle and husband, Wayne; one brother, Eddie Barber and wife, Donna; two sisters in-law, JoAnn Farris and Sherry Stout; and one brother in-law, Mike Farris.

Patty is survived her children, Karen Wallace and husband, Jim, April Henry and husband, Ricky, and Joe Farris and, Brittney, all of Mansfield, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Cody Henry and wife, Brooke, Logan Henry and wife, Karina, Ethan Wallace and wife, Blaine, Kristen Brown and husband, Tyler, Ryan Wallace, Blake Henry and wife, Parker, Jamisen Thulin and husband, Zaven, Paige Henry and special friend, Alex, Jadyn Farris, Camilla Farris, Dominic Farris, JD Farris, and Jax Farris; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cathy Easley and husband, Charlie; one brother in-law, Jay Stout; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Patty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many memories spent together.
