Patricia Rogers

Oct 7, 1937 — Jul 13, 2026

Hartville, Missouri

Patricia Lou Rogers (Courtney), daughter of the late Farrell and Alburta (Harrison) Courtney, born on October 7, 1937, in Fair Play, Missouri, and departed this life on July 13, 2026, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 6 days.

Patricia grew up on her family’s farm, where she learned the value of hard work early in life. Leaving school at a young age to help support her family by cutting wood, her determination shone through as she later taught herself to read. She was united in marriage to Buford Kelly, and to this union, three children were born. A devoted homemaker, Patricia spent her life selflessly putting others before herself. She was a woman of many talents, dedicating her time to sewing clothing for her family, gardening, and cooking. It has often been said that she likely fed half of Wright County throughout her lifetime.

Widowed at a young age, Patricia's resilience guided her forward. She later married Donald Rogers, warmly welcoming five more children into her life. Although Patricia and Donald eventually separated, they remained close friends throughout their lives.

In her spare time, Patricia found joy in the simple things: reading, fishing, camping, and playing games like cards, jacks, and dice. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her family and absolutely loved being around children. A woman of faith, she was saved at a revival in Kansas.

Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband, Buford Kelley, her second husband, Donald Rogers, her parents, Farrell and Alberta Courtney, one son-in-law, Ike Moore, one step-son, Timothy Rogers, two grandchildren, Joseph Brawley, and Tammy Moore, and three brothers, Arlis Greathouse, Carlos Greathouse, and Larry Greathouse.

She is survived by one son, Eluis Kelley of Competition, Missouri, two daughters, Patsy Moore of Hartville, Missouri, and Rita Kelley of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two step-sons, Howard Rogers, and wife, Marsha, of Osceola, Missouri, and Donald Wayne Rogers of Phillipsburg, Missouri, two step-daughters, Ruby Busch of Lebanon, Missouri, and Carolyn Shoemaker and husband, Hugh, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, five grandchildren, Robert Brawley and wife, Shayla, Donna Scott and husband, Ryan, Bobby Moore, Amy Welch, and Debbie Kelley, one brother, Dee Greathouse, one sister, Linda Lawson, and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved her.
