Patricia “Patty” Sue (Yarber) Nunn, 71, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on August 8, 2026. She was a mother, grandmother and friend—her presence will be deeply missed by all of those who loved and cared for her.

Patty was born on August 23rd, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, to Max and Jane Yarber. Patty lived out the entirety of her life in Mountain Grove. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1972, and was later married for 21 years to Kip Nunn, two daughters were born to this union, Laura and Tara. While her daughters were young, Patty worked as a homemaker, a trusted babysitter, and a caretaker of an elderly family member. Later she went on to become a Certified Nurse’s Aid where she found much joy in caring for the elderly population. She showed great compassion for those she cared for and enjoyed bringing a smile to their faces. Patty would often reminisce about the good times she had throughout high school. During high school, she was blessed with a group of girlfriends whom she cherished and remained in contact with throughout her life. Kaye Gourley, Becky McNaught, Judy Blanton, Darlene Bradshaw, Carol Frisbee, and the late Aleta Pamperien, your unwavering love over the years nourished her soul.

Patty enjoyed reminiscing, laughing, and telling stories of her past. You would often times find her sitting outside on her porch enjoying time with her neighbor friends, telling stories, and cracking jokes. Throughout her life, she enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, crafting, gardening, collecting antiquities, candle-making, refurbishing furnishings, watching reruns of old sitcoms and game shows, and spending time with her beloved dogs: Minnie and Buffy.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Laura Taylor and husband, James, of Springfield, Missouri, her daughter, Tara Emery and husband, Chris, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, her grandchildren, Dalton Nunn, Ian Martus, Davin Emery and wife, Chelsie, and Tori Emery all of Springfield, Missouri, Taea Emery and Brody Emery both of Mountain Grove, Missouri, her great-grandson, Jettson Emery of Springfield, Missouri, her sister, Sandy Housley of Mountain Grove, Missouri, her brother, Wade Yarber of Houston, Missouri, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
