Pauline Skinner

Evelyn Pauline Skinner, daughter of the late Scott and Bessie (Davis) Edwards, was born August 19, 1932, at Odin, Missouri, and departed this life December 6, 2024, at her home near Hartville, Missouri. Pauline was united in marriage to Lowell Skinner on May 18, 1951, and four children were born to this union. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, after 57 years of marriage, her parents, Scott and Bessie Edwards, one brother, Ray Edwards, two sisters, Dorothy Wampler and Wanda Walter, two brothers-in-law Milton Walter and Troy Skinner, and one sister-in-law, Pansy Shannon. 

Pauline is survived by her four children, Linda Fraker of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Gene Skinner and wife, Nancy, of Willard, Missouri, Jim Skinner and wife, Julie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Debbie Martin and husband, Kevin, of Hartville, Missouri, ten grandchildren, Brandi Ridings and husband, James, Nancy Eastburn and husband, Matt, Erin Conard and husband, Michael, Justin Skinner and wife, Kendra, Melissa Skinner, Emily Brinkley and husband, Jesse, Sarah Allen and husband, Brian, Rebecca Metzler and husband, Ethan, Levi Skinner and wife, Lindsay, and Bailey Thomas and husband, Cole, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Norma Spurlock of Lebanon, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Dean Skinner of Simi Valley, California, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Wanda Helsley and Mike and Sue Ward. She also had some very special ladies who loved and cared for her for the past two years, Carol Nelson, Fannie Beiler, and Fannie, Beana, and Bertha Stoltzfus.

Pauline was born and raised in the Odin community. She graduated from Hartville High School and married Lowell, the same day, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Shortly thereafter, they bought their first farm and began milking cows while lovingly raising her family. She worked at the Mansfield Dime Store, and after selling the dairy cows, worked at the Wright County Library for 33 years until she retired in 2005. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Hartville Free Will Baptist Church and was a Godly example to her family. 

Her hobbies included her family, ceramics, and vegetable and flower gardening. She loved working outdoors and continued to mow her own yard until the age of 88. She was an excellent cook, especially with her pies and cobblers. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting in the evenings, and during the winter months. She was never one to sit idle. 

Pauline loved her family and was a devoted mother and wife, caring for Lowell at home until his death in 2008. She always looked forward to the annual Edward’s Christmases. She was the picture of contentment. - I Timothy 6:6

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who loved her.
