Ray Sears

Charles Raymond “Ray” Sears, son of the late Charles Jefferson and Gertrude Ellen (Brown) Sears, was born on October 3, 1947, in Denver, Colorado. He was called to meet the King on November 5, 2025, from his earthly home in Ava, Missouri, and his faith became sight.

Ray was raised in Platteville, Colorado, and graduated from Valley High School. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1971 with a degree in architecture. He started working at an architectural woodworking company where he was trained as a master craftsman. Ray opened his own architecture firm called Chasm Architecture, which later became C. Raymond Sears Architecture. He was well-known for restoring buildings to their historical period.

Ray met Sally Thompson, and they were united in marriage on March 25, 1989. They lived in Colorado together for many years before moving to Missouri in 2021. It was a great blessing for Sally to be set apart and honored as his wife, and to be loved by such a gentle, devoted, and honorable man.

Ray was a faithful servant, leader, teacher, counselor, and mentor in multiple Messianic Jewish congregations. His love of the Word defined him and guided every decision he made through his very last breath.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude Sears, and his brother-in-law Mike Wright.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Sally Sears, two sons, Tanner Sears (Heidi), and Brady Sears (Kristy Sagely), three grandchildren, Tabitha Sears, Colt Sears, and James Sears, his sister, Sue Wright, one nephew, Bill Ulrich, and many dear friends who will truly miss him.
