Rena "Reenie" Zimmerman

January 1, 1957 — April 2, 2024

Seymour

Rena Zimmerman, daughter of the late Chulce and Mayme (Reser) Mainus, was born January 1, 1957, in Mansfield, Missouri. She passed from this life April 2, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 67.

Rena, referred to as "Reenie" by family and close friends, grew up in Ava, Missouri, and even attended school there, sometimes. But, not very often so, when she got old enough, she dropped out. After that life altering decision, she had to do something to make some money so she began working as a waitress at the Skyline Cafe in Seymour, Missouri. One day, in walked (in her words) a "Sad, lonely, and HOT man." It wasn't too much longer after that, Terry Zimmerman gave Reenie his last name. They were united in marriage on April 13, 1974, in Ava. They built a life together in Seymour. Terry and Reenie were just eleven days shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and they were more in love today than they'd ever been.

Reenie took great pride in raising her children and taking care of her family. In her spare time she could be found working in her vegetable and flower gardens, cross-stitching, crocheting, or spending time reading her "smut" books under the shade tree. She had a love for God's creation and fed stray cats and squirrels. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her best friend, Bonnie, and visiting with her neighbors. Reenie enjoyed making others laugh. She had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loved ones, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Reenie had given her heart to Jesus and said that she couldn't wait to spend eternity with Him. No doubt, she is worshipping at the feet of Jesus now.

Besides her parents, Reenie was preceded in death by two brothers, Ferman Mainus and Daymond Mainus.

Reenie is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Terry Zimmerman of Seymour, two sons, Timmy Zimmerman of Seymour and Jimmy Zimmerman and wife, Erica, of Seymour; one daughter, Jenny Coffee and husband, Curtis, of Seymour, eight grandchildren, Daymond Coffee and wife, Kelsey, Devin Coffee and wife, Cassi, Dustin Coffee and wife, Kenadie, Dani Coffee, Dakotah Coffee, Hayden Zimmerman, Hudson Zimmerman, and Hayzley Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Stella Coffee, Ren Coffee, Tatum Coffee, August Coffee, and one on the way, Colter Coffee; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
