Dr. Robert "Bob" Wayne Perry

Dr. Robert “Bob” Wayne Perry, of Mansfield, Missouri, passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 76. A devoted family man, educator, coach, and community leader, Bob leaves behind a legacy rooted in learning, leadership, and service.

Born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri, Bob dedicated his professional life to the field of education. He served in public-school leadership roles for over 30 years, shaping school systems and impacting generations of students and educators across Missouri. Following his retirement from K-12 education, he continued his commitment to learning by serving as a professor at Southwest Baptist University, where he trained future educators and leaders.

Bob was a lifelong learner himself, earning degrees from Hannibal-LaGrange University, (Southwest) Missouri State University, (Northeast Missouri) Truman State University, the University of Missouri (Mizzou), and ultimately earning his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He believed deeply in the power of education to transform lives and led with vision, integrity, and compassion.

In addition to his contributions in education, Bob was a gifted athlete. He excelled in sports throughout his life and was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame at Hannibal-LaGrange University, an enduring testament to his talent, dedication, and competitive spirit. He was also an avid golfer and took pride in crafting custom golf clubs for family, friends, and members of the local communities.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Perry; his daughters, Julie Spinabella (Kery) and Trisha Perry (Brook); his grandchildren, Perry Spinabella (Hannah) and Ashlyn Spinabella (Jacob); and his great-grandson, Arlo Spinabella. He is also survived by 2 siblings, Charlotte Rhoades and Cathy Perry, and his mother-in-law, Luella Dick.

Bob will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Ann Short Tuner Community Center in Mansfield, Missouri, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ann Short Tuner Community Center or the Mansfield Scholarship Foundation in care of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Mansfield by dropping off in person at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Mansfield or by Mail: 315 N.
