Rosalie Claxton was born July 11, 1945, in Garberville, California, and departed this life January 23, 2026, in Seymour, Missouri, at 80 years of age.
As a teenager, Rosalie moved with her family to Missouri, and lived the remainder of her life in the Fordland and Seymour areas. She was united in marriage to Victor Claxton on April 28, 1962, and three sons were born to this union: David, Daniel, and Joseph. Rosalie loved going camping at the lake with her family, and they have made many memories there over the years. She also liked traveling to the Smoky Mountains, and she truly enjoyed anything that had to do with being out in nature.
Most of Rosalie’s adult life revolved around her dog kennel. She owned and operated a successful dog kennel for nearly 60 years, and took pride in her work. Her favorite breeds to raise were French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Rose and Kenneth Davis, one daughter-in-law, Tammy Claxton, and her two siblings, Jeanie and Billy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Victor Claxton, three sons, David Claxton, Daniel Claxton, and Joseph Claxton and wife, Patricia, six grandchildren, Daniel Kent Leightner, Clayton Payseur, Cara Swanson, Elizabeth Kilburn, Randie Shaffer, and Chelsea Claxton, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss her.
