Rubin Arellano Liguez

Rubin Arellano Liguez was born on May 4, 1946, in Gonzales, Texas, to Amado and Mary (Arellano) Liguez. He left his earthly home and went to be with our Lord on October 22, 2026, from Willow Springs, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.

Rubin was raised and spent his early years of his life in Gonzales. Back in those days, he liked to spend time with his friends shooting pool and drinking his “cold ones”.

Later in life, Rubin began a relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of this, Rubin became an ordained non-denominational minister and was able to help lead others onto the straight and narrow path.

Rubin enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys (a HUGE fan!), eating Payday candy bars, and drinking 2-liter Cokes, which he called his “fat ladies”. He gave them that name because he said the bottles were shaped like a woman. However, what Rubin truly treasured, was spending as much time as he could with his family and considered it a bonus when it involved a barbecue!

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Lois Marie (Hill) Liguez; brothers, John Liguez and Joe Moreno; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Liguez.

Rubin is survived by his son, Michael Liguez (Alicia) of Mountain Grove, Missouri; grandsons, Michael Anthony Liguez (Felisha Fuentes) and Joseph Lee Liguez; great-grandchildren, Michael Anthony Liguez, Jr., William Liguez, Joseph Isaac Liguez, Isaiah Anthony Liguez, Gabriela Nicole Liguez, Carly Jade Liguez, and Christopher Michael Liguez; brother, Jesse Liguez of Round Rock, Texas; sisters, Yolanda Martinez of Austin, Texas, Nancy Castillo and Terre Moreno, both of San Antonio, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Rubin’s legacy will live on through his son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
