Sandra Young

Sandra Kay Young, daughter of Samuel Nelson and Delores (Vanhorn) Nelson, was born February 17, 1951, in Kearney, Nebraska, and departed this life October 14, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.

On December 23, 1969, she was united in marriage to Darrell Young and to this union 4 children were born.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Darrell; grandson, Nicholas Brumley; and sister, Evelyn.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Delores Nelson, of Springfield, Missouri, companion, Johnny Wintjen of Mtn. Grove; daughter, Tammy Brumley and husband, Roger, of Mansfield, Missouri; three sons, Danny Young and wife, Natasha, of Macomb, Missouri, Darrell Young and David Young, both of Mansfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nathan, Destiny, Kourtney, and Khloe; three sisters, Charlotte Sartin of Springfield, Missouri and Jane Clifton of Marshfield, Missouri, Barb Gordon, of Fruitland, Idaho, brother, Taylor Sedillo, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sandy was born in Nebraska and in 1962, the Nelson family moved to the Mansfield area. Sandy and Darrell raised their family in Mansfield where she was a devoted wife and homemaker. After Darrell’s passing, she and Johnny shared several years together, recently moving to Mtn. Grove.

 In her spare time, she loved her animals, playing bingo, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids.

Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, companion, and friend. We have many special memories that we will always cherish.
