Shelby L. Moore

September 9, 1947 — May 6, 2024

Shelby Lee Moore, son of the late Luther and Cleo (Dugger) Moore, was born September 9, 1947, at home in Norwood, Missouri, and went to be with Jesus on May 6, 2024, at his home north of Norwood. He was 76 years, 7 months, and 27 days of age.

Shelby became a Christian in 1981 and was a faithful member and deacon at Rock Chapel Church, located north of Norwood. He served his Lord with joy. Shelby worked at many jobs as a young man. He worked at O.K. Tire in Mountain Grove for 11 years and as a route salesman for IBC Bread Company for 30 years. He also maintained a farm throughout his entire life. Shelby also served 6 years in the Army National Guard.

Shelby loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, going on cruises, and spending lots of time in the great outdoors. He was a long-time member of the Road Riders for Jesus ministry. He was a very resourceful man who could repair or fix just about anything.

Shelby’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was such a gentle and kind man. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved for him to take them on rides in the tractor and side by side. A lifetime of memories have been forged and will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Besides his parents, Shelby was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Duane Moore, three sisters, Diana Kay Sartor, Joyce Faye Edwards, and Janice May Hicks.

Shelby is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Moore, two sons, Michael Moore and wife, Chanda, of Cabool, Missouri, and Steven Moore of Norwood, Missouri, six grandchildren, Hannah Unger and husband, Braden, of Norwood, Missouri, Ethan Moore and wife, Madison, of Ozark, Missouri, Elijah Moore and wife, Allyssa, of Tucson, Arizona, Micah Moore of Nixa, Missouri, Shelbi Moore of Cabool, Missouri, and Skylar McKee of Las Vegas, Nevada, five great-grandsons, Blythe, Jasper, Owen, Hudson, and Levi, one brother, Terry Moore and wife, Linda, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Bret Edwards of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and many other close relatives and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
