Terri Wood

Terri Lee Wood, daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Georgia M. Harris, was born in Wood River, Illinois, on March 12, 1951, and departed this life on Monday, January 12, 2026. She grew up on a dairy farm in Richland, Missouri, with her two siblings, Steven and Sheryl. Terri was united in marriage to Richard W. Baxter and to this union, one child was born, Kattie L. Baxter.

Terri spent many years in Owensville, Missouri with Brown Shoe company. She went back to college and later married James P. Wood. Terri spent time both in Kansas and then back in Missouri, working for the school system in both places with the janitorial department. She absolutely loved being around and working with children.

She also loved anything that had to do with nature and detective themed things. She liked to collect owls and elephants and bake treats for everyone. She also enjoyed sewing, whether she was creating something new or just repairing something old. Anyone who knew her would say that she loved with her whole heart.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, James, her brother, Steven, and her sister, Sheryl.

She is survived by her daughter, Kattie L. Baxter-Byrnes, two grandsons, Kody Baxter and wife, Hailey of Mansfield, Missouri and Wyatt A. Baxter-Roskowske of Springfield, Missouri, many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
