Thelma Fern (Cobb) Homan

May 2, 1927 — March 15, 2013

Thelma Fern Homan, daughter of the late William Samson and Dosha Francis (Pasley) Cobb, was born on May 2, 1927 in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on March 15, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at 85 years of age.
Thelma grew up and attended school in Douglas County. She was united in marriage to William Howard Homan on August 22, 1944 in Colton, California. They moved back to Missouri in 1946 where they made their home in Douglas County. Seven children were born to this union.
Thelma was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and visiting with those around her. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Thelma was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending services at the Almost Home Church in Mtn. Grove as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed fishing, needle work, collecting angels and salt and pepper shakers. She also liked listening to country music and making trips to Branson, Missouri.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Homan in 1974; four brothers: Alfred, Cecil, Herbert, and Harrall; two sisters: Iva and Dortha; one great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; and by two great-great-grandsons.
She is survived by two sons: Tom Homan of Brighton, Missouri, and Ed Homan of Nixa, Missouri; five daughters: Jeanie Graham and her husband, Jim, of Mtn. Grove, Wanda Lasater and Lynda Lewis, both of Springfield, Missouri, Patty Gustafson of Republic, Missouri, and Diann Scearce and her husband, Steve, of Mtn. Grove; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends at Autumn Oaks Caring Center.


Funeral Service: Thursday,

March 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM
in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Visitation: Wednesday,
March 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

in the funeral home.

Burial: Pleasant Home Cemetery

Memorial Contributions: St. Jude’s Children’s
Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association
c/o the funeral home.
