Thomas Manford Rabourn, 86, was born on May 23, 1940, in Dodge City, Kansas. The oldest child of Thomas and Marie Shelly, he went on to live a full and memorable life.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Celine Rabourn for 53 years. He is survived by Celine and three children: daughter, Dara and her husband, Chris Casados; Vince and his wife, Chanda Rabourn; and son Matthew Rabourn. He leaves behind a legacy of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three siblings: Steve and his wife, Beth Rabourn; sister, Alexis Rabourn; and Greg and his wife, Becky Rabourn. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and other loved ones.
Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked in insurance and retired as Director of Risk Management for the State of New Mexico. Along the way, he gathered many funny stories from his interesting life and loved sharing them with others.
Thomas had a kind, easygoing approach to life. Dogs and children were drawn to him, and he loved them in return. He also enjoyed sweets—especially the desserts Celine made— and treasured his old red 68 Chevy truck.
Thomas was a very special man who was deeply loved and will be missed by many. His family and friends will remember his stories, his humor, his kindness, and the joy he brought to those around him.
