Vancel S. Welch

Vancel S. Welch was born October 30, 1920, in Norwood, Missouri, to Sherman and Beffie (Caudle) Welch. He departed this life June 26, 2018, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 97 years, 7 months, and 27 days of age.

He was united in marriage to Peggy Lynch, and five children were born to this union.

Vancel was an over the road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed trucking and being able to travel around the country. He also owned and operated automotive shops in Missouri, California, and Washington. He liked to tinker and work on cars and trucks.

Vancel was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Welch, on August 11, 1994, one son, Stanley J. Welch, in 1995, and by his parents, Sherman and Beffie Welch.

He is survived by four children, June (Welch) Dodge and her husband, Larry, of Tulare, California, Vance Welch Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of Afton, Wyoming, Teresa (Welch) Phillips and her husband, Steve, of Tulare, California, and Steve Welch and his wife, Sally, of Fort Brag, California, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends who will miss him.
