Wahneeta Parsons

Wahneeta Parsons, daughter of the late Noah F. and Tina (Barnes) Bowlin, was born on July 28, 1921 in Blanche, Missouri, and departed this life on September 9, 2007 at her residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 86 years, 1 month, and 12 days of age.
Wahneeta was raised in the Vanzant Community and was united in marriage to Earl Parsons on November 29, 1941 in Brixey, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in Douglas County for many years.
She attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College where she earned her Bachelors Degree. She also attended Missouri University where she earned her Masters Degree. She taught school in Mountain Grove for over forty years.
Wahneeta greatly enjoyed taking care of her vegetable and flower gardens, quilting, and yard sales. She also had a great interest in genealogy. Wahneeta was a faithful and active member of the First Freewill Baptist Church for more than fifty years.
Besides her parents, Wahneeta was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Parsons; one son: Gary Parsons; and by six brothers.
She is survived by one son: Norman Parsons of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter: Naomi Mayer of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren: Kevin Parsons, Kelly Parsons, Michael Parsons, Rhonda (Parsons) Melton, Maranatha Mayer, and David Earl Mayer; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home
Visitation:
Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Interment:
Hillcrest Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, MO
