William Tommy Todd

William Tommy Todd, son of Ernie L. and Anna (Duke) Todd, was born December 8, 1935, in Rayborn, Missouri. He went to his heavenly home on September 27, 2026, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 90. 

Tom graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1953. He was united in marriage to Wilda Spurgeon on May 26, 1956. Three children were born to this union, Tom D., Tammi, and Tracy.

Tom worked for Brown Shoe Factory for 13 years and then had the opportunity to work for Dairy Farmers Of America as a lab technician for 33 years. In 1999, he began his retirement. During retirement, he and Wilda kept busy with the family farm, traveling to various destinations, keeping up with the many activities of their beloved grandchildren, and frequent card games with friends. Tom was always available to provide his love and support while offering advice and wisdom to his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren often brought a smile to his face, whether it was begging for tractor and golf cart rides, or requesting Papa T’s famous pancake breakfasts.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie L. and Anna Todd; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arch and Mabel Spurgeon; his loving daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lea Todd, who he loved as his own daughter; two brothers, Don Todd and Clarel Todd; two sisters, Berniece Bogart and Carlene Fry; six brothers-in-law, Tip Forrest, Willard Spurgeon, Beverly Fry, Harry Bogart, Junior Duey, and Bob Larmer; six sisters-in-law, Charlene Forrest, Wilma Duey, Joyce Todd, Connie Spurgeon, Jean Larmer, and Mary Todd.

Tom is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Wilda, of the home for 70 years and 4 months; his sons, Tom D. Todd (Tracey) of Rogersville, Missouri, and Tracy Todd (Cheryl) of Springfield, Missouri; his daughter, Tammi Gaddis (Mackie) of Mountain Grove, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Matt Gaddis (Michelle) of Nixa, Missouri, Alison Flippin (Ryan) of Nixa, Missouri, Kyle Todd of Rogersville, Missouri, Melissa Vaughan (Clint) of Norwood, Missouri, Brittany Ray (Keaton) of Springfield, Missouri, Hannah Todd of Springfield, Missouri, Logan Stoddard (Dani) of Republic, Missouri, and Lucas Stoddard of Springfield, Missouri; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Sean Todd, Cheylea Pamperien, Christian Flippin, Riley, Brady, and Bentley Vaughan, Baylee and Matilyn Gaddis, Haden, Adalynn, Stetson Stoddard, Lynnleigh and Maxwell Ray.

Tom will be missed by many other family members, church family, and a multitude of friends that loved and adored him. He was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully and served as Sunday School teacher for a number of years.

The family would like to thank Autumn Oaks Nursing Home and Everhome Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Dad in his final days before entering his eternal home in Heaven.
