Her dogs became her babies after her girls grew up and left home. She also liked raising goats on their farm after they moved to Missouri.

Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of their home in Vanzant, Jack, two daughters, Kristina Whitten and her husband, Brad, of Hanahan, South Carolina, and Katherine Nichols and her husband, Bradley, of Union Mills, North Carolina, two brothers, Mark Bragg of Jacksonville, Florida, and Eric Bragg of Goose Creek, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Colin, Corbin, and Lorelei Nichols, and other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.
